Highlighting every woman in our publication so their fight is no longer overlooked.
The Dominican Republic is a traditionally male-dominated society, and women are constantly seen as secondary role players, so their efforts to reach equality are widely ignored.
On International Women’s Day, we led an editorial intervention of Diario Libre, the most widely read newspaper in the Dominican Republic, to highlight the vital role of women in every area of society. We redesigned the printed edition by manually bolding each woman’s name and adding a symbolic emoji 🙋🏾♀️, turning a traditional medium into a powerful act of social impact.
